Note on the painting: With my bee series, I'm increasingly interested in the phenomenon of swarms and hive behavior. After my own bee hives failed last year, I'm starting again with two new hives. I began this painting after "installing" my new bees into their hives. I was remembering that feeling of standing there in my beekeeping suit surrounded by hundreds of flying insects.
